FIRST MCDONALD’S IN TOWN, JLN GOPENG IPOH

First drive-thru McDonald’s outlet (28/6/2006 The Star)

AN EXCITING FIRST: Perak MCA chairman Datuk Ong Ka Chuan (third left) performing the groundbreaking ceremony for the first drive-thru McDonald’s restaurant in the state recently.With him are Tebing Tinggi assemblymen Datuk Chew Wai Khoon (fourth right), Simpang Pulai assemblyman Alex Chan (second left), the land owner and contractors as well as rep resentatives from McDonald’s. The restaurant, with a built up area of 408 sq m, will be situated on a 3,800 sq-metre site on Jalan Raja Dr Nazrin Shah (Jalan Gopeng) in lpoh. It is expected to be completed at the end of the year. Ong expressed hope that the drive-thru restaurant would make Ipoh city more vibrant.
